>As a law student or articulating student, how much involvement will I have in cases?

>As a student or intern, you will quickly be involved in case files through mandates directly assigned to you. Students will assist the more senior professionals in all stages of the files including legal research, due diligence, report writing, legal proceedings as well as various document analysis. They may also have to present motions to the Court as well as write research notes and argumentation plans.

>Grades are just but an indicator of an individual's abilities. As we revere candidates who have an exceptional academic and extra-academic background, we measure the excellence of a candidate as much by their social and extracurricular implications as by their academic background.

>How do I prepare for the interview?

>Our interview entails a discussion where we seek to find out if there is a match between our corporate culture and your values. We advise you to just be yourself as we want to capture your truest nature, personality and authentic side. The best way to prepare for an interview is to do an introspection exercise to get to know what you want and look for from an employer.

>Should I apply to several firms?

>If you wish to do so, that is at your own will. We encourage you to participate in various student activities so as to discover the different personalities of the firms that you will interact with.

>How many interns will you be hiring?

>The number of interns we intend to have depends on our analysis of the workload we expect to have at a certain period. Sometimes we accept more students if their values match perfectly with the DNA of our firm.

>What does a typical week at Wise Allies look like?

>On average, a student will invest 40 - 45 hours per week as they dedicate their time to professional development. This can include:

  • Helping a client grow by merger or acquisition – defend it by writing an argument; negotiate its next collective agreement; carry out its initial public offering or,
  • Real estate acquisition – cope or advise clients on the protection of their most recent innovations
  • Allowing students to sharpen their legal and technical skills, dive into the issues specific to the business world and grow professionally
>What happens to students who do not pass their Bar Exam the first time around?

>These students will have the opportunity to pass the Bar supplement exam and head on the next stage. If the trainee has failed the supplemental exam, we offer the chance to postpone the internship.

>We offer our students help and support during this crucial stage in their career, including how to succeed in their Bar exam. This comes along with a program where a lawyer from the office supports you during bar school, as well as considerable financial support.
